Masque Unit Theatre of Marin 2009 Production

"The Emperor’s New Clothes" is Masque Unit Jr. Theatre of Marin’s 46th annual musical production for young children. Based on the ever popular Hans Christian Andersen story, Masque brings to life the hilarity of an overly fashion-conscious Emperor, and his royal court, interacting with two swindlers posing as tailors. The "tailors" promise to make the Emperor the finest clothes imaginable for his upcoming court procession. The cloth, they explain, is invisible to anyone who is either dimwitted or unfit for his position. In the end, the honest members of the court prove that it is important to stand up for what you believe even if it means taking a big risk. The catchy tunes and comedic dialogue will delight audiences young and old alike.

Masque Unit Theatre of Marin is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization.
Lauded and respected for presenting annual live musical theater experiences for youngsters and their families, Masque Unit marks its 54th consecutive year presenting fully produced stage performances retelling classic children's stories.
